Storm Lake, Iowa:  The Buena Vista County Community Foundation announces their 2016 Spring Round of Grants.

The application for the 2016 Spring Round of Grants is available on the Foundation’s web page at www.bvcountyfoundation.com or by email at info@bvcountyfoundation.com.

The deadline for turning in applications in the Spring 2016 round of grants is 5:00PM on Friday, April 22nd, 2016.

Grants can be mailed to the Foundation at P.O. Box 771, Storm Lake, Iowa 50588 or they can be dropped off at the Storm Lake PUBLIC LIBRARY (609 Cayuga Street) in Storm Lake, Iowa.  Any grants not received and in hand by 5:00PM on the 22nd of April, 2016 will be returned and not considered in the 2016 Spring round of grants.

The Buena Vista County Community Foundation seeks to provide grant funding to local not-for-profit groups in Buena Vista County whose project will help to make Buena Vista County better in some way.  Grants are given for capital projects but not for operational programming.

To assist groups and potential applicants in the filing of a grant application the Foundation will provide an optional Informational Workshop on Tuesday, April 5th, 2016 at 5:30PM at Storm Lake Public Library, 609 Cayuga Street, Storm Lake, Iowa.

The workshop will review the application and help grant writers understand what the Foundation is looking for in the application; as well as, review the changes for the grant program.  In addition, individuals and groups interested in writing a grant should review our web page and “like” us on Facebook as we will be putting up reminders and tips in both locations.

The Buena Vista County Foundation’s web page at www.bvcountyfoundation.com has additional helpful resources for grant writers in the Frequently Asked Questions section of the web page.

Funds granted through the grant program must benefit Buena Vista County residents and/or organizations.  Applicants must be a 501.C.3 organization or a governmental or educational organization such as a City, County, or Community School District or utilize a fiscal agent.

In addition to their grant making side the Buena Vista County Community Foundation is a great way for individuals and families to leave a legacy for future generations.  For more information, contact the Buena Vista County Community Foundation by email at info@bvcountyfoundation.com.
